Cahersiveen / Cathair Saidhbhín
Cahersiveen is one of the larger settlements on the Kerry Way. It is a small town on the 'Ring of Kerry' and has one long main street with shops spilling over onto several of the side streets. There is no shortage of pubs, restaurants and shops. There are also pass machines available for withdrawing cash.
Cahersiveen was the birthplace to Daniel O'Connell who went on to help establish rights for Catholics in Ireland in the 18th century. There is a heritage centre in the town housed in an old Royal Irish Constabulary barracks where a better understanding for the history for the surrounding area can be found.
